ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To observe the effects of transcutaneous acupoint stimulation (TEAS) on sleep quality and inflammatory factor in frail elderly patients undergoing laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery.@*METHODS@#A total of 100 frail elderly patients undergoing elective laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, 50 cases in each one. Patients in the observation group received TEAS, 30 min before surgery until the end of surgery, at 18:00 on the day of surgery and on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd day after surgery (30 min each time). TEAS was delivered at bilateral Neiguan (PC 6), Shenmen (HT 7) and Hegu (LI 4). The disperse-dense wave of 2 Hz/100 Hz was selected, and the maximal stimulation intensity depended on patient's tolerance. The operation procedure in the control group was same as the observation group, but without electric stimulation exerted. The 1st day before surgery and on the 1st, 3rd and 7th day after surgery, the scores of Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) and Athens insomnia scale (AIS), as well as the serum levels of C reactive protein (CRP) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) were observed in the patients of two groups. At 24 h, 48 h and 72 h after surgery, the score of pain visual analogue scale (VAS) was recorded in the two groups, as well as the pressing times of analgesic pump and the usage of flurbiprofen axetil during analgesic stage. The occurrence of post operative adverse reactions was observed in the patients of two groups.@*RESULTS@#On the 1st and 3rd day after surgery, except the usage of hypnotic drug scores, the scores of each item and the total scores of PSQI, as well as AIS scores were all increased in the two groups compared with those of 1 day before surgery (P<0.05); and the scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). On the 7th day after surgery, the scores of each item and the total scores of PSQI, and AIS scores were not different statistically in comparison between the two groups (P>0.05). On the 1st, 3rd and 7th day after surgery, serum levels of CRP and IL-6 were all increased in the patients of two groups when compared with those of 1 day before surgery (P<0.05), serum levels CRP and IL-6 in the patients of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). The VAS scores of 24 h, 48 h and 72 h after surgery, the pressing times of analgesic pump, the frequency and dosage of the remedies were not different statistically between the two groups (P>0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#TEAS can effectively improve sleep quality and reduce inflammatory reaction in frail elderly patients undergoing laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the effects of Yuanzhisan (YZS) containing Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (YZSR) or Codonopsis Radix (YZSD) on memory disorder based on network and experimental pharmacology. Method:The active components and targets of YZS were retrieved from the component database and literature, and the targets of memory disorder from the disease databases. The intersection targets revealed by Veen diagram were subjected to pathway analysis. The common active components of YZSR and YZSD were molecularly docked onto the core targets. Scopolamine hydrobromide was used to establish the memory disorder model, which was employed in the behavioral experiments for evaluating the effect of YZSR and YZSD on memory disorder. Result:There existed 33 active components for Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma and 31 for Codonopsis Radix, with four common active components and 380 common targets. YZSR contained 85 active components and 790 drug targets, and YZSD 81 active components and 781 drug targets. The mapping of 425 memory disorder targets with those of YZSD and YZSD yielded 133 and 130 intersection targets, respectively. The metabolic pathways involved calcium ion signaling pathway, hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1) signaling pathway, mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway, etc. As revealed by molecular docking, the binding energy of common active components to the targets was negative, and the binding effect of frutinone A was the best. Behavioral experiment results showed that both YZSR and YZSD alleviated the memory disorder. In the step-down test, the number of errors in the YZSD group was significant lower than that in the model group (P<0.01). In Morris water maze test, the movement distance of the YZSD group was remarkably shortened in comparison with that of the model group (P<0.05). In the open field test, the movement distances of both the YZSR and YZSD group were shortened in contrast to that in the normal group (P<0.05). Conclusion:YZS had a certain effect on memory disorder. There are similarities and differences between YZSR and YZSD in the treatment of memory disorder.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS) of different acupoint combinations on postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) and serum motilin (MTL) content in patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery, so as to provide evidence for clinical selection of suitable acupoint compatibility. METHODS: A total of 140 patients undergoing elective laparoscopic surgery were randomly divided into general anesthesia (GA) control, TG2 [Neiguan (PC6) + Hegu (LI4)], TG3 [PC6 + LI4 + Zusanli (ST36)], and TG4 [PC6 + LI4 + ST36 + Sanyinjiao (SP6)] groups, with 35 cases in each group. Patients of the TG2, TG3 and TG4 groups received TEAS (2 Hz/100 Hz, 3-8 mA) of the above mentioned acupoint (bilateral) groups for 30 min before the induction of anesthesia until the end of the operation. Patients of the GA control group received intravenous injection of Midazolam, Sufentanil, Propofol, Rocuronium Bromide, etc. The blood sample (4 mL) from the right median cubital vein was collected at the time of patient's entry, 12 and 24 h after surgery, respectively, for measuring MTL concentration by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The incidence of early and late PONV and changes of PONV degree within 24 h after surgery were recorded. RESULTS: The serum MTL concentrations were significantly decreased at 12 h after surgery in all the 4 groups (P<0.05), and decreased at 24 h after surgery in GA and TG2 groups vs their own pre-surgery (P < 0.05), and considerably higher at both 12 and 24 h after surgery in the TG2, TG3 and TG4 groups than in the GA control group (P<0.05), and also evidently higher in the TG3 and TG4 groups than in the TG2 group (P<0.05). The incidence of PONV was significantly lower in the TG2, TG3 and TG4 groups than in the GA control group in the early and late periods (except TG2 group) of surgery (P<0.05). The number of patients with PONV grade Ⅰ was significantly larger in the TG2, TG3 and TG4 groups than in the GA control group at 24 h after surgery (P<0.05), suggesting a mild PONV in more patients undergoing TEAS. CONCLUSION: TEAS has a preventive effect on PONV in patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery, which may be related to its effect in reducing serum MTL concentration. The preventive effect of TEAS of PC6 + LI4 + ST36 and PC6 +LI4 + ST36 + SP6 is similar and better than TG2 (two acupoints) group.

ABSTRACT

Hydrophobic medicine carbendazim, come into inclusion compounds with β-cyclodextrin(β-CD),2-hydroxypropyl-β-CD (2-Hp-β-CD) and 2,6-dimethyl-β-CD(Me-β-CD),were made by solvent method.By investigating the inclusion behaviors of these three cyclodextrins combined with carbendazim using 1H NMR,2D rotating frame overhause effect spectroscopy (ROESY) and diffusion ordered spectroscopy, the possible ways of combinations and the recognition ratio of this three inclusion compounds,Dβ-CD=2.516×10-10m2/s,D2-Hp-β-CD=1.676×10-10m2/s,DMe-β-CD=2.046×10-10m2/s,were obtained.According to X-ray power diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron spectroscopy characterization,it was found that the characteristic diffraction peaks changed after carbendazim and cyclodextrin formed into inclusion compounds, and the characteristic diffraction peak of carbendazim at 10.4°,21.2°,25.8°,31.5°(2θ) lost or disappear. The pyrolysis temperature of carbendazim was 197.5℃,and would be higher than 260℃ after it formed inclusion complex. The infrared spectrum also showed that the oscillation peaks of inner cyclodextrin cavum apparently reduced after carbendazim combined, which demonstrated that the position of water molecules inside cyclodextrin cavum were occupied by the carbendazim molecules. With the help of SEM,the appearances of inclusion were different from a single carbendazim molecule, which manifested a new structure appeared.

ABSTRACT

The nonstructural genes (NS1) of nine H9N2 subtype avian influenza viruses isolated from diseased chickens on different farms during 1998-2005 were amplified by RT-PCR and completely sequenced. The nucleotide and deduced amino acid sequences of NS1 genes of these isolates were compared. The results showed that NS1 genes of all H9N2 isolates contained 654 bp and encoded 217 amino acids. The homologies of the nucleotide and deduced amino sequences of the isolates were 95.4%-99.8% and 93.6%-100%, respectively. Comparison of the amino acid sequences of NS1 proteins of these isolates with other H9N2 viruses demonstrated that NS1 proteins of the nine strains had a deletion of 13 amino acid residues at the carboxyl terminus, which may be the molecule mark of the isolates in mainland China. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that the NS1 genes of these isolates fell into the same lineage and belonged to allele A. Eight out of nine isolates belonged to the CK/SH/F/98-like lineage while only Ck/HN/A3/98 strain belonged to the Ck/HK/Y280/97-like linease. All the isolates were derived from Ck/BJ/1/94 strain which was the first isolate is mainland China in 1994. The results indicated that H9N2 subtype AIV appeared differentiation following the passage of time and the viruses belonging to Ck/SH/F/98-like acquired an epidemic spread advantage in chicken population in mainland China.
